Cook Out in Winston Salem

My favorite fast food out of Florida so far. I always enjoy some when I leave FL.

Your experience here will always be hit or miss. The best times to visit cookout are as we all know, when they first open for lunch, around the dinner rush between 6 and 8, or late late at around 1am to 3am. Any mid times that are off peak, you're subject to cold fries, and poor service. You would think them being busy would mean poor service but with cookout it's the opposite. When they're moving they're usually more upbeat. You might wait in a line, but it's worth a wait if you care about your food being fresh, go when they're dead, well they're dead for a reason...

My order is always wrong. Most of the people that work there are rude and act like they hate their job.

Charged me $0.90 extra when they couldn't make change (after giving me my food). I couldn't decline. Plus, they forgot my mustard and ketchup for my corn dog and straw and spoon for my Cheereine float. C'mon, man!

Undoubtedly the best fast food hamburgers and the BEST milkshakes!

When they messed up my food I took it up to the window and young lady inside stood there and said there is a walkup and would not wait on me. There was one employee that was white and he finally came to window to wait on me. Next time I went a young lady at window was as nice as she could be! I guess the first young lady doesn't like people that does not have same skin tone as her. That was a sad experience because I thought I am just standing here. It's not like I said or acted ugly in any way.:(

First and last time at this cookout. Several other reviewers note the horrible attitude given by the crew (found this very accurate). Went after dark around dinner time (7-8pm) so maybe this was the problem. Ordered a chocolate shake and some fries. Fries were limp and cold. Chocolate shake was more the consistency of chocolate milk with too much syrup in it. Didn't go back to have it corrected since I was too tired after work and didn't have the energy for the inevitable confrontation. Sadly wasted money as the food wasn't edible.

The hamburger tasted like it had been sitting all day. The milkshakes are wonderful.

I've eaten there several times, the food was good and the service was good this time, but the parking and entrance and exit of the place gives me the creepy feeling.

They didn't resist the order for accuracy and have me the wrong thing. Not pleased. First time I've been here.

Cookout is always going to be my favorite fast food restaurant. The food is phenomenal and addicting! The employees sometimes act like they really don't want to be there, but I can look past that. They're always fast and my order is right 9 times out of 10, which is much better than other fast food restaurants.

First time ever my order was actually perfect at a cookout. Not even a joke haha. They always mess up. But this location does it different. They went above and beyond and exceeded all expectations. And we had 3 orders in one car. All executed perfectly.

I've eaten at many different Cook Outs through the years. They're all pretty much the same quality & speed. That's why we like to eat there occasionally. I get a tray and pay extra for one of their 40+ flavors & combo flavors of milkshakes. Yummm! I get the Big Double, Cajun fries, & bacon wrap without ranch dressing. I open the wrap and put the bacon, cheese, & lettuce on my burger!! 😉😋

Not pleased! Food is always burnt, and managers never address your complaints!

Excellent food. My husband bought twice the same order. He loved the chili Hot dog. He ate 4 hot dogs and 4 burgers.

Best BLT ever. Cookout is fast food that taste good. I rarely enjoy fast food anymore, it just serves its purpose. But Cookout is a welcomed palate pleaser.

Best cookout around..staff. food. Everything good. But its according to the day and time. Whoever they got working late shift they need to give raise. They burgers always be on point and the fries. Good job people

Food is pretty good, especially late at night, that's usually when I prefer to stop by here. Have eaten here more than twice, unfortunately only two photos.

For this to be drive thru only...You would think they would put more care in making sure your order is always correct.

Food was burned and NO good. chicken was burnt to a crisp and my Lady's burger was ruined too. Horrible food, would NOT go back

My favorite part about Cook Out is their Marvelous Milkshake 👌👌My favorite favorite one is cookies n creme, but I'm thinking about trying every single Milkshake 👌👌😎😎.

The food is great typical cookout quality, however they don't give enough fries in an order of double fries. You're better off getting fries and a different side than double fries.

Fast service, delicious food

I get the watermelon milkshakes every single summer and now this year’s they’re not good :/ it doesn’t have the chunks of watermelons PLEASE DO IT LIKE BEFORE

Best burgers, chicken sandwich, and cajun fries around the area. It is very top quality, for chicken nuggets I recommend heading to Wendy's instead

Food is always good but the service uh s horrible. SLOW DOWN! If you ask a question, let the answer completely leave my lips before you close the window. When I ask for napkin or condiments, don't act like it costs YOU, "the service ppl" personally a fortune to give it to me!!

Nice place. They forgot part of my order and I went back, and they had it ready; apologized. The peach cobbler shake was fantastic.

Food always good! The chicken strip club sandwich is always delicious! The quesodillas are both inexpensive and delicious as well. However, twice in one week we recieved an incomplete order though, so I had to knock a star for a few bucks worth of missed food. The microphone, as I am sure you all know, is so hard to communicate through..just sayin.

They have the best milkshakes in town.

The food was very delicious and the customer service was quick and courteous. I feel like we are going to need hair nets for some of these ridiculous eyelash.

Ate at this place so many times in my 4 years at UNCSA. Lots of great nights with friends and food. Kinda sentimental to me, in the end.

This place is alright. The food is very cheap that's what it is known for. It is very popular amongst young people, it's a very common place for people to eat. You can only do drive through or order through a window, dinning in is not an option. This place is also known for it's good milkshakes and big broad menu. It's not the healthiest place to eat at, but if you just wanna grab a quick cheap fast food bite, this can be your place to go.

Onion rings overcooked. Asked for no lettuce....had lettuce. Cashier good at window but rushing when ordering.

Always good food and great location.

Food is always good and prices are great. However, if there are more than a few cars in line, the wait can be frustrating.

I'm not sure how but this Cook Out manages to screw up orders more than any other Cook Out I've been to. Just ordered a tray and to my shock and awe I find that the main course is missing. They only put the sides in the tray. This has happened multiple times. If you have another restaurant on your trip home then use it because chances are you won't get what you paid for at this one.

Overall great experience! Fast service, my food was correct and the staff was very polite. I definitely will be visiting this location again.
